Moonbridge Chronicles: from Nelli’s bench.
Moonbridge isn’t fancy, but it’s solid. The kind of place that holds together even when it looks like it shouldn’t. I like that.
I work with wood. Tables, doors, the occasional mistake someone swears is a “project.” People bring me things that should’ve been thrown out years ago and ask if I can “make it good again.” Usually I can.
People here know what I can do, and I know who I can count on. That’s all I need.
If you’re looking for wisdom, knock next door. If you’re looking for a chair that won’t collapse — that’s my department.

Hi MZ,
I am new to Substack and trying to share my own writing as well. I saw one of your posts on my feed.
This excerpt is great. I appreciate your style, it reads to the point and declarative. I feel modern fantasy is leaning too hard on the ornamental, cinematic, etc. Your style gives me room to breathe.
I understand this is just a small excerpt and I am interested in reading more. I shot you a follow.
Thanks for sharing!
